Many people in these areas when requested for a P.O. BOX or address either give the nearest church, mosque, office, or even the parents/grandparents. This makes people share an address/P.O BOX which creates a lack of identity, lost documents such as passports /driver’s licenses are returned and a lack of privacy as a person or individual who shares a P.O Box documents and parcels are seen by the people who share an address.
A case study is an acquaintance who lost a university placement because he shared his address with the local church. When the university acceptance was sent one member of the family forgot to mention he had taken the letter to his house and had forgotten to ask him to get it from him. Some months later the deadline had passed and missed an opportunity to study at his dream university.
Such stories and many others are what inspired us to come up with MPost. 90% of the adult population owns a sim card. MPost lets your phone number be your own mobile post office and your phone number be your formal postal address, where you can access postal services. Not only can it be used to receive mail or parcels but act as a KYC tool for banks, insurance companies, and Governments.
